Handset Detection
Hi, Have been testing with various emulators and devices, and have found the all of the RIM devices have the following variable: device_claims_web_support blank/null http://www.handsetdetection.com/devices/properties/RIM/blackberry95... Is there a reason for this? thanks nick

Hi Nick, device_claims_web_support basically tells you if the web browser on the device can render normal web pages on a small screen. Examples include Opera and Safari, desktop browsers for portable devices, rather than mobile browsers as such. Cheers r

Handset Detection
hi, thanks for the response, rereading my post, it\'s a little unclear what i meant. After testing i have noted that device_claims_web_support is blank/null, it\'s the variable that use for the options on what to display. the example i gave, the Blackberry storm can show standard web pages correctly, however in the api data indicates that it cannot. I have check a few other RIM devices and they all have blank/null for the web support option. Nick

Hi Nick, Yes - I see what you mean. As a workaround can you use \'markup / xhtml_support_level\' ? I\'ll investigate the missing blackberry options in the mean time. Cheers r
